Maison 140: A Parisian Retreat in Beverely Hills

Described as an amalgam of Parisian elegance and Hollywood glam, Maison 140 tops my list of design hotels to visit.  The boutique hideaway located in the heart of L.A. recently underwent a chic transformation at the hands of none other than Kelly Wearstler.  In true Wearstler fashion, the hotel’s 44 guest suites are luxurious and inviting with features like tufted headboards and silk wall coverings.  Adding intrigue to the old-world elegance is the hotel’s lounge, Bar Noir, which balances the Belle Époque decadence of its guest suites with dramatic Asian-inspired accents like mirrored chinoiserie panels.  I soooo want to go to there!

Isn’t it great?  Definitely one of my favorite hotels by Wearstler.

Maxi Skirts Done Right

I’m a huge fan of the maxi skirt but it can be a hard length to pull off.  These ladies rock it.

Urban Outfitters has a pleated chiffon maxi skirt almost identical to the one above, it’s $58.00 here.  ASOS also has some good options, including this blue chiffon number (also available in cream).

Currently Coveting: Spotted Wallpaper

I just about died when I saw this spotted wallpaper in Chloe Magazine’s reveal of interior designer Meredith Heron’s office.  I’m a huge fan of black and white accents, and this small-scale print is the perfect backdrop for added texture and a bit of boldness without being overpowering.   The wallpaper is Tanzania by Thibaut, and it’s offered in fabric as well.

I loved this office so much I had to check out Meredith’s blog.  She offers some insightful design tips, definitely worth a read.  For more, check out my post on Charlestongrit.

A New Favorite: Regien

Designer and Michigan native Maggie McGrath has serious talent.  I first met Maggie last year on a trip to New Orleans and was instantly wowed by her amazing aesthetic and incredibly humble attitude.  Now, after years working for designers, she took the plunge and launched her own line–and it’s awesome.

Described as clean maximalism, Regien demonstrates that a convivial approach to fashion can produce frocks that are equally understated and cool.  I’m loving everything from the exotic prints and primary hues to the clean lines and feminine silhouettes.  Currently the collection is available via special order here.

The Tropicana Dress is one of my faves.  Love the print and the silhouette.

The perfect day to night dress.  I would wear this number everywhere from the farmer’s market to cocktails and dinner.

With its light swingy shape and bold poppy hue, the Carpe Diem Dress is fitting for a balmy summer evening.

I’m in love with this gray maxi dress, which can easily be dressed up or down.

These printed shorts are so cute.  A definite necessity for the summer rotation.

Bravo Maggie.  Can’t wait to see more!

Accessories Obsession: Lizzie Fortunato Jewels

Have you seen Lizzie Fortunato‘s amazing collection of statement necklaces, cuffs, earrings and handbags?  I’m totally obsessed with everything in the spring line.  Handcrafted in India, the details are exquisite, lending each piece a unique worldly vibe.  I’m particularly infatuated with the brand’s growing handbag collection.  The clutch below also doubles as an iPad case!

And I’m so bummed I missed the fall trunk show featured this past week on Moda Operandi.  The F/W 2012 collection is equally amazing.  Definitely a new favorite.  What do you think?
