That I’m itching for a vacay is an understatement. Needless to say, when I stumbled across The Siam Hotel‘s stylish digs in this month’s Afar–I was blown away. The gorgeous riverside retreat was conceived by Thai-American musician turned hotelier Krissada Sukosol Clapp, along with renowned architect and interior/landscape designer Bill Bensley, one of Architectural Digest’s “Top 100 Designers and Most Creative People.” Inspired by Paris’ Musee D’Orsay, the hotel marries a muted palette of black, white, cream, grey and neutrals with natural textures, sprawling gardens and verdant shrubs. Art Deco accents throughout aim to channel the grandeur of old Siam under the reign of King Rama V (1853-1910).
The 39 art deco inspired suites and villas offer a spacious escape from bustling Bangkok with soaking tubes, private gardens and decor that will delight even the most discerning travel afficionados. Those soaking tubes are calling my name!
Above is the corridor to the spa. Amenities also include a bath house and screening room… not bad.
Just one-night at this glam getaway will set you back a pretty penny… but a girl can dream!
