Currently Coveting: Fluorescent Yellow

I’ve literally been stalking this dress from Topshop waiting for it to come back in my size… (it’s currently sold out but is available in blue here).  Of course Ms. Eadie of Atlantic-Pacific beat me to the punch!

And I love how she paired it with the pink Zara sandals I posted about the other week.

This is from last fall but I love Miroslava Duma’s neon Christopher Kane skirt.

Who would have thought neon yellow could pair so well with a camel colored coat.

Fluorescent yellow denim with what looks like the same Prada shoes as Mira’s above.

Currently Coveting: Spotted Wallpaper

I just about died when I saw this spotted wallpaper in Chloe Magazine’s reveal of interior designer Meredith Heron’s office.  I’m a huge fan of black and white accents, and this small-scale print is the perfect backdrop for added texture and a bit of boldness without being overpowering.   The wallpaper is Tanzania by Thibaut, and it’s offered in fabric as well.

I loved this office so much I had to check out Meredith’s blog.  She offers some insightful design tips, definitely worth a read.  For more, check out my post on Charlestongrit.

Currently Coveting: Amber Heard’s Hollywood Glam

There’s something insanely fresh about Amber Heard’s retro glam style. The Rum Diary star recently got props for her revival of old Hollywood glamour after stunning red carpet appearances.

The 25-year-old Texas native’s on screen glamour and elegance feels uniquely authentic, perhaps because her personal style is very much like that of her sultry yet prim Rum Diary character.

In fact, as revealed in an interview with Stylist, Heard found a deep connection with her character, particularly when it comes to fashion, stating “[t]hey’re actually very similar. I wear a lot of those clothes.”

As I prepare for a much-needed vacay in Miami, I’m really digging the scene stealer’s sultry 1950’s Riviera meets Palm Springs style.

It’s old hollywood glamour with a hint of modern edge.  My ideal vacay packing list for a Rum Diary inspired look:

Currently Coveting: Alexis Bittar

I’ve always adored Alexis Bittar‘s unique lucite creations.  Winner of the prestigious CFDA Accessory Designer of the Year award in 2010, his latest designs are some of his best yet.  I particularly love the Miss Havisham collection, a nice mix of vintage and modern.

The Crystal Encrusted Rose Gold Aster Bracelet is one of my favorites.  Perfect dressed up and on its own or with other delicate bangles like the skinny cuff below.   $275

The Leger Rose Gold Crescent Necklace is simply stunning.  $245.

I love the pearly grey and rose gold in this Crystal Encrusted Overlying Bracelet.  $345.

I’m digging the mix of gunmetal, gold, pave, and gem stones in the Pave Accented Gold Gem Hinge Bracelet.  $395.

Paired with any of the above, the Crystal Encrusted Gunmetal Skinny Cuff adds a little edge.  $155.

This Crystal Encrusted Collar would be amazing with a simple white shirt.  $395.

You can’t go wrong with the perennially chic lucite Gold Studded Hinge Cuff.  $185.

The Leger Rose Gold Extra Large Bracelet is extra large on style.  $495.

My favorite Crystal Encrusted Gold Aster Bracelet is equally appealing in black.  $275.

Gift Guide: For Her

I’m no expert in gift giving, but here’s a compilation of some fabulous items on my wish list.  If you’re still undecided at the eleventh hour, there’s absolutely NOTHING wrong with a gift certificate — I promise!

1.  You can’t go wrong with a great coffee table book.  Some favorites on my wish list are Celerie Kemble’s Black and White (and a Bit in Between) and Design Sponge at Home by Grace Bonney (Anthropologie is offering an exclusive special edition here).  I also love Poolside with Slim Aarons for its glimpse inside the luxe jet-setting lifestyle of the rich and beautiful.  And for the art lover, De Kooning: A Retrospective is pretty amazing– I’m especially smitten after my visit to the MoMA last month.

2.  Jewelry is a no-brainer.  I love these fun Man Ray Lip Cuffs from St. Kilda which come in an array of great colors.  I’m also coveting St. Kilda’s Snake Ring with Diamond Pave.

Another fabulous option are these handcrafted python and brass cuffs from newbie Yoseph H which I recently stumbled across during a trunk show at Bloomingdales in New York.  Score!  I also love J.Crew’s deco bracelet, a product of its collaboration with Lulu Frost.  From $68.00 and under.

3.  For a totally chic hostess gift I adore this gold drip dish from Kelley Wearstler.  $175.00.

4.  Fashionable winter accessories to keep your extremities toasty are always nice.  These leopard calf hair gloves from J.Crew definitely fit the bill.  $175.00.

5.  Nothing is sweeter than a pretty scent by Tocca.  I love the fresh floral fragrance of the Cleopatra Solide.  A great stocking stuffer.  $30.00 at Sephora.

6.  A great camera like this Nikon Coolpix P500, which boasts an amazing zoom and high quality low light photos, is a must-have on my list.  $359.00-$399.00.

7.  A glam pair of sunnies will always ignite delight.  Elizabeth and James offers some fabulous options.  My pick is the Beverly style in Tortoise, $185 at

I also love these Karen Walker stunners.  Number One in Crazy Tortoise, $180 at

8.  You can never go wrong with a classic handbag.  In a bright color, this iconic quilted Marc Jacobs style is striking.  I especially love it in yellow!  The XL Single, $845 at

Another great option and an absolute favorite of mine is Rebecca Minkoff’s Morning After Clutch.  I actually own two of this fabulous bag and I wear it every single day.  This mini MAC in stamped ostrich is sold exclusively at Saks and also comes in orange! $225.00.

9.  At $7.00-$12.00, these chic printed zipper cases from West Elm are great stocking stuffers.  Equipped with water-resistant lining, they can store everything from toiletries to jewelry and can be monogrammed for $7.00!

10.  Looking for something vintage?  How about a mink fur stole.  I’ve been scouring ebay incessantly in hopes of uncovering a real treasure at a great price.  This one from dreamcruiser120 is currently bidding at a mere $43.95. Never underestimate ebay!

A slave to flats, I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect bootie with a walkable heel for some time.  Something chic yet still comfortable for all day wear.  Something that would pair well with skirts, pants, dresses, shorts… day or night.  Perhaps I was a little overzealous – there couldn’t be something that versatile!  Au contraire.  Enter the stacked heel bootie.  Equally edgy with shorts and skirts as with ankle length skinnies or trousers, these leg lengthening beauties are the perfect mix of effortless cool.  Here are a few wearable options.
