Holy color blocking gorgeousness!  In a stunning side slit, midriff bearing Thakoon number, Emma Stone get’s my vote for best dressed at this year’s Met Gala.  Youthful, modern and glamorous.  And that hair–perfection!

Red Carpet Roundup: Golden Globes’ Best Dressed

71st Annual Golden Globe Awards - Arrivals

As per usual, the red carpet was a mix of jaw dropping hits and major fails.  Lupita Nyong’o killed it in this GORGEOUS caped number by Ralph Lauren.  Best dressed in my book–hands down!  A few other stunners of note, Margot Robbie and a pregnant Olivia Wilde, both in Gucci.

Naomi Watts looked exquisite in Tom Ford–gold accessories were perfectly unexpected.  And um…can we talk about Cate Blanchett?  This Armani gown is like a piece of art–the girl can do no wrong.

Also loving Emilia Clarke in Proenza Schouler and Kalye Cuoco in Rani Zakhem.

While I LOVED Jennifer Lawrence’s Dior gown, her jewelry and makeup seemed a bit off.  Would have loved to see her with a brighter lip–something more youthful, more pink perhaps.  But hey, she stole the show nonetheless!

Emmy’s Red Carpet Roundup

I didn’t catch the Emmy’s red carpet last night because…well…I was engrossed in something far more important and pressing–binge watching season three of Downton Abbey.  Late to the Downton game, I admit, but damn, that show has sucked me in.   I like to think the period drama’s signature flowy frocks have subconsciously inspired these elegant and ethereal picks from last night’s red carpet showdown.

First up, Rose Byrne’s statuesque mid-drift bearing Calvin Klein number is at the top of my picks.  Also bearing some mid-drift, Padma Lakshmi.  Both killed it.

Claire Danes’ Armani Prive embellished gown was another favorite. She looked absolutely gorgeous (minus the boob deflation issue).

Zooey Deschanel looks ah-mazing in this icy blue J. Mendel stunner and even boasts the bling to match.

Also in J. Mendel, Kate Mara knocks it out of the park in white.  Love the delicate peekabo mesh lace top juxtaposed with the crisp high-waisted skirt.  Perfection.

Simple, elegant and white never fails and Taylor Schilling’s Thakoon halter is no exception.

And of course, as my ode to Downton, I couldn’t leave off Michelle Dockery (a.k.a. Lady Mary) in Prada.  Gorgeous!

Coveting: Leslie Mann’s Naeem Kahn Gown

Umm… I have no words.  This gorgeous citrus hued gown worn by Leslie Mann at last night’s Emmy Awards is utterly divine!   Equal parts boho and hollywood glam, the embroidery strikes a nice balance with the airy yet rich yellow fabric.  As for trend spotting, yellow was definitely a major player on the red carpet and I’m totally digging it!

Another peak of the Naeem Kahn creation from the Spring/Summer 2013 runway.  So gorgeous!

Met Gala 2012: Prada Rocks the Red Carpet

As the subject of the Costume Institute’s Spring exhibition and the theme of the annual gala, it’s no surprise that the evenings best dressed were wearing Prada.  From Carey Mulligan’s metallic halter to Gwyneth Paltrow’s polarizing silver showstopper, Prada had some major red carpet moments.

Carey Mulligan’s metallic halter was an instant favorite.

While I agree with some reviews that this dress should probably be an inch or two longer, Gwyneth looks absolutely stunning in this Prada frock.

Diane Kruger’s purple Prada dress was another favorite of the evening.  I love the skirt and the way she wears it, kind of glam-boho.

Kate Bosworth also wore Prada.  I love the short yet elegant look of this dramatic feathered halter.

I love the embellishment in Anna Wintour’s Prada gown.

Eva Mendes looks stunning in red and a peplum.

Amber Valetta’s color blocked Prada gown pops against the red carpet.
