London Fashion Week Street Style

Maybe it’s London’s vibrant punk scene or perhaps the moody fog off the Thames, either way grunge is having a bit of a moment at London Fashion Week (in a good 90s chic kind of way).  90s trends have been rearing their head for the past few seasons (i.e. neon, destroyed cuffed denim, crop tops, oversized sweatshirts, sneakers…the list goes on) but never before have they seemed this relevant.  From leather moto jackets and florals to oversized everything and acetate mirrored sunglasses, this roundup could pass as easily for 1995 as 2014.

Color Crush: Blush

Somewhere between petal pink and peachy beige, blush hues are the sophisticated counterpart to winter white.  Whether paired with black leather, white or juxtaposed against brights, this muted neutral feels fresh, optimistic and even reminiscent of sunny days to come.  Especially loving it worn monochrome below (P.S. check out that gorge Sophie Hulme envelope clutch, the mini version is on sale at farfetch here–tempting)!

9 Summer Sandals Under $100

I’ve been on the hunt for some new summer footwear for quite some time.  Actually, on the hunt for two types of sandals: (1) one flat pair conducive for all-day blister-free wear, and (2) one with some height, ideally a modest wedge that has a real heel but is still low enough to actually walk in (actually being the operative word).   This post is dedicated to the former.  (Don’t worry, there will be a post dedicated to wedges too…)

I’ve been stalking these ankle strap sandals from Zara for a while now.  Offered in hot pink and silver, the only thing better than the fabulous colors is the price tag.  $49.90 at Zara.

Zara always has great shoe finds and these nude pointy flats are no exception.  The closed toe makes them a great option for work as well.  $49.90 here.  These nude thong sandals from DV by Dolce Vita are also a great versatile option that can easily be dressed up.  $69.00 at Piperlime.  Note: reviews say they run a tad large so size down.

Building on the neon trend, these nude and pink sandals from Topshop are one of my favorites, such a great buy at $56.  These thong sandals by Seychelles are also super cute.  $70 at Piperlime.

Low heels are popping up everywhere.  This gilded option by Sam Edelman is a nice adaptation.  $99 at Nordstrom.

J.Crew’s Audra sandal for $98 is a no-brainer as are these cross strap sandals from DV by Dolce Vita, available for $69.00 at Endless.  I actually tried on the DV sandals and they are uber comfortable, but they ran a touch wide on me so I passed (I have pretty narrow feet).

Animal prints are basically a neutral, especially when they’re offered in a classic thong style like these by Sam Edelman.  Take a cue from Olivia Palermo and pair them with florals and prints.   $65 at Endless.

What’s your favorite?
