Newcomer Jordana Warmflash has only shown two collections since launching Novis in 2012, but I’m already hooked. Her S/S 2014 collection revealed a playful contemporary take on classic feminine silhouettes with a nod to mid-century fashion. Think full skirts, bustier tops, cropped trousers and boxy jackets–all in an impeccable mix of coral, mint, yellow and periwinkle.
Definitely one to watch!

Jaw dropping gorgeousness! Recently featured in Domino (yes, the ever popular glossy is BACK!!), restauranteur Ali Cayne’s West Village abode is a restored vintage gem. Cayne, who has no background in design, seamlessly weaves elements of gold, brass, splashes of color and texture against a black & white motif that transcends effortlessly from room to room. Dhurrie and Moroccan rugs throughout juxtapose perfectly with the home’s vintage bones while also lending a relaxed, inviting feel.
Goes to show you can never go wrong with a simple black, white and gold palette, and of course, texture galore. Good bones certainly don’t hurt either–hello, herringbone floors!

Somehow I seem to have acquired two dogs–two adorable Boykin Spaniels. While I love the little pups, incessant shedding and dark hair does not bode well for upholstery, rugs, bedding…the list goes on. Keeping pets off furniture would be the obvious answer, but saying “no” to those cute faces is no easy feat! Fortunately, my sofa is slipcovered which makes washing stains and removing hair that much easier. However, weekly slipcover washing is a little tedious to say the least. For a temporary fix, I found a semi cute (and cheap) throw to wrap over the bottom cushions and I’m kind of digging it.
Funny story–I found this throw at…drum roll…a gas station! Yes, I bought it for $6 at a gas station somewhere in Indiana on a trip from Chicago to Charleston. It was such a good find I actually snagged two–now I’m wishing I bought more…
